Vivienne Westwood inspired historical photo shoot at Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna
Did you know that the styles of Vivienne Westwood, Rococo, the Merveilleuses and Punks have quite a lot in common? Apart from Marie Antoinette it is Vivienne Westwood who inspired to this photo shoot. Her fashion design based on historic styles is unique. In the history of costumes, the antique classicism was already developed during Rococo (not just during the French Revolution). And the fashion of the Directoire was already revealing and showed a level of modernism that afterwards was only seen in the 20th century. As also Punks are very socio-critical it is interesting to compare their fashion to the Merveilleuses in France. They stood against the “Great Terror” and in their fashion used elements that we would define as “Punk” today: eye-catching clothes & jewellery, shaved hair and strong make-up.
rokoko and regency fashion inspired advertising photo shoot at khm vienna by fashion stylist katalina sasdy. there are four people in the background, two ladies, each in yellow and red rococo dresses, a little girl in a light blue rococo dress and a punk in a provocative outfit with raised green hair. a soldier in the uniform of the napoleonic army is standing in front of the group and holding the hand of a lady in a white empire dress and black shaved hair.
