Frock & Frill Advertising Photo Shoot á la “The Great Gatsby”
Immortalised by the classic film, The Great Gatsby, the 1920s will always be remembered as a daring, flirtatious and celebratory era of female fashion rebellion.
The main intention of this shoot was to connect the old and the new. As Marie Antoinette’s “Minister of Fashion”, Rose Bertin, once remarked: “There is nothing new except what has been forgotten.” Therefore, original 1920s dresses from Lambert Hofer’s collection were mixed with new Frock and Frill styles. And, as you can see on modern catwalks, recreating historical fashions can be a most contemporary form of artistic expression.
